こんにちは〜 仙台のプライベートな英会話講師＆翻訳者デイブです。 今日の話題は：All English Hello everyone! Merry Christmas! Sorry about the lack of updates, I’ve been pretty busy lately. Did you all have a great Christmas? I did. We had KFC, cake and beer. These days I really appreciate Japanese style Christmas. When I first moved to Japan I thought Japanese Christmas was weird. But these days I really enjoy the simplicity of it. Christmas in America is such a huge event that becomes exhausting. It’s also extremely consumer focused; meaning there is societal and cultural pressure to buy a lot of presents for your family and friends. These days I’m getting a little sick of consumerism. This year Black Friday was somewhat popular here in Japan. Oh no... After I had my child I stopped thinking about what I want for Christmas and started thinking about what to buy for my son. I guess his is natural but it’s also fairly refreshing. Finally, I’d like to recommend a traditional American Christmas movie. It’s called “A Christmas Story”. It’s great.
